Synchronicity may refer to what we know as meaningful coincidences that seem to be connected to each other but not really by a cause and effect relationship.
Synchronicities are events connected to one another not by strict cause-and-effect but by what in classical times were known as sympathies, by the belief that an acausal relationship exists between events on the inside and the outside of ourselves, crosstalk between mind and matter which is governed by a certain species of attraction
This concept was introduced by psychologist Carl Jung who believed these events are manifestations of a deeper, unconscious order in the universe and can offer psychological or spiritual guidance. Examples include thinking of someone and then unexpectedly running into them or having a dream about a specific image right before a real-life event involving that image occurs.
A synchronicity can also be seen as a coincidence that has an analog within the mind and depending upon how you understand it it can inform you, primarily through intuition and your emotions. How near or far you are from what Carlos Castaneda calls “the path with heart.”
No one has been really able to fully explain synchronicities so perhaps we could simply accept it as a spiritual wild card, an ordering principle with the height of absurdity and the depth of profundity and a small crack in the door through which you can catch a glimpse of our universe and its mysterious ways.
